This is supposed to be a Catholic mortuary. You would expect these people to have some compassion and at least consider that we're people who just lost a loved one and we're still mourning.
I'm the grandchild of my nana who recently passed and my experience here at the Queen of Heavens was horrible. The staff were rude. All they want is to get their money. They told us the total would be 12,000 but they charged us for a bunch of extra stuff and the total ended up being $16K even after we did a bunch of things on our own. Making my slideshow was a HORRIBLE experience. Reason being was that they were making everything so complicated for us. They kept telling me that they only use DVD-R discs and I was going back and forth to test out every burned disc that I made (all of them failed). And finally, I coincidentally burned my slideshow on the "wrong" disc, which was DVD+R, and it finally worked. if I didn't make the slideshow, it would be another $200 for THEM to make it.
The day of the viewing, the staff member who stayed until it was over was just so mean. He gave me attitude. He had NO compassion whatsoever. He didn't even care that we had a dead family member in there IN FRONT OF JESUS. He even brought security in to make sure that we all got out exactly at 8pm. He didn't care that people were saying their goodbyes.
During the actual funeral; the burial, the staff were just kind of there. No emotion. No nothing. I know they don't feel our pain but at least show some consideration. The only announcements they made were to tell everyone to leave because they can't start burying the casket until we're all gone. Also, We were told that water was going to be provided and there was no water. When I asked about the water, the lady didn't even hesitate. She immediately said "no we did not provide water" and looked confused.
My main point here is that we lost someone, a loved one. If you work at a funeral home, understand that that is something you're dealing with everyday. You HAVE to have some kind of emotion.
I felt really uncomfortable and disrespected.
I don't recommend this funeral home to anyone. You would be better off going to a normal funeral home because they literally have "Catholic" in their name just to bring people in.Added April 13, 2017 by Yajaira Lopez - ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Knowing that my mother and I were taken care of during the ceremony when my Dad was laid to rest. A beautiful moment. Thank you Nancy & Nick

I want to thank Nathan and his staff again for their help in making funeral arrangements for my mother. Not only were they professional, but I found everyone to be caring and compassionate. Blessings!
